RE: UPDATE: Traded Trykon for a Bowtech

there's absolutely no question that your Tribute is a much faster bow.
Well now, I don't know about that. 65#'s was 281, 70 is 297......with an increase of 5 pounds, at 3 fps / pound......that's 15 fps gain, making it 296.....if you ask me.....it's pretty much the same speed. Can't speak for the draw cycle, I've never shot a Bowtech.

If your Tryk was shooting 281 @ 65, and you're getting 297 with the same arrows @ 70, there's absolutely no question that your Tribute is a much faster bow. But, we know that's not all there is ... Add in a much-nicer draw cycle, and you've got yourself a winner! ;)

Congrats on your new baby!
Says the BowTech salesman lol. First off, Bowtechs are great bows, one of my top 3 bows. Second, Greg FYI myhunting partnerhas an 06 Tribute thats at 70lbs and Im shooting 6 FPS faster than him with the same arrows and my Trykon is at only 65 lbs, same weight tipsandsame rest shooting through a ProChrono Digital. Besides speedis only a portion of what makes a good bow. Whats most important is that Duc likes how it shoots in his hands. Thats the Bowtech I would buy if I wanted to shoot a little slower ;)

Greg: Thanks bud.:) I was wanting to try the Allegiance but they didn't have any and I just had to have another bow. The shop is going to be closed all of next week so I knew I could't wait that long. Anyway, I'm happy with the Tribute and have no regret about not being able to try the Ally.

Question for ya. How many pounds does a turn of the limb bolts roughly equal?

Mowbow: Your'e not afraid to try a Bowtech either, now are you?;)

Thanks Rhody.:D

Diesel: So you never told me the speed of your Trykon.

Diesel

What mods (smooth or fast)does he have on hisTribute and what draw length are the two bows? Nothing against the Trykon but apples to apples it will not (should not) outperform a Tribute. If so he has a lemon and needs to send it back for the bow not perfroming up to it's advertised speed ratings.

Mobo

In my experiences 2 fps / lb of draw weight seems to be more accurate. I have saw 3 fps but not more than once that I recall, it was on an old Martin Cougar. Take it with a grain of salt though, averages are just that..... averages.

LMAO!!!! No, as a matter of fact, I'm not. I was going to tell you this a couple weeks ago, but conveniently forgot....[&:]

I did in fact shoot a Switchback, and I gotta suck tail a little.....it indeed is a very fine shooting bow. I particularly enjoyed the grip. Very quiet, no hand shock, or vibration, but it wasn't quite as fast, or as smooth as my UltraTec. But I was impressed.

Your'e a heck of a guy to admit that.:D:) Most people gripe about the grip including me. You like the bigger grips?

EDIT: You posted a couple links a while back about form and such. I guess I didn't bookmark those. You still have them. Thanks

Yes, I like the higher wrist grip. I'll be getting one for my UltraTec in a few weeks. Here's the link....

Diesel77, are your draw lengths the same?

FWIW, my 61# smooth mods 29" draw is currently shooting 385 grain arrow at 275fps, 400 gr at 270.
It likes the 385's mo betta though.

Im shooting 31 hes shooting 31. He has the speed mod. Buckeye where did you read this researchregarding the apples to apples about the Trykon vrs the Tribute and how the Trykon "will not outperform" a Tribute of the same specs? Glad you found something Ive been looking for a whileaboutpublished documented unbiased researched information regarding these 2 bows in particular. The only thing Ive ever foundbesides shooting side by side myself with both bows is on themanufactureres web sites which doesnt really mean anything to me.One says 316 and one says 320, neither of ours are close to the maunfacturers specs because we arent shooting whatever the optimum conditions were at the time they gathered their info. It doesnt mention if, and who, certified the chrono's or if the documentation was ISO certified etc ... my only comparison info is from first hand knowledge.

Diesel77, are your draw lengths the same?
Both are 31

Diesel: So you never told me the speed of your Trykon.
Sure I did duc, faster than your Tribute and6 FPS faster than my buddys Tribute, he's below 300 and Im over 300. Its not much faster than yours but it doesnt really matter, its fast enough to kill deer and its fast enough to make me tell my buddy he bought a lemon according to a Bowtech National Pro Staffer [X(]
