arrow groups

How tight should arrow groups be for 10, 20, and 30 yards?

It's personal preference, really.

There is no set size your groups should be.

I prefer mine to be as tight asI can possibly get them, and once they're where I like it, I try to make them tighter.

you want to be able hit a deer or whatever game you are shooting at every time in the vitals. the limit of that is your max range. This could be 15 yrds or 50 yrds...it varies person to person. The only constant is that you always want to get better:D...so there is no 'good enough';)

Well, have to agree personal preference, but to be honest, I had to stop shooting at the same spot cause I was scraping and RHing arrows.......so don't do it too often but confident enough at each dot or target I shoot that 'one shot one kill'

Well, have to agree personal preference,
I could only wish it was a preference. I'll take .5 inch groups at 50 yards please. [8D][8D][8D]

If I can shoot consistant 5 inch groups at 20 yards with my longbow, I'd consider it a good day. :)

My groups at 20yds damage too many arrows and are the reason I own a fletching jig. I don't shoot groups any more. At 20 and 30, which is all my back yard allows, I shoot5 arrows at 5 spots on my bag target. When shooting at my deer target I carefully shoot at different areas in the vitals.

Archer's Minute of Angle - 1" per every 10 yards. If you can hold that, you're a decent shot. A good shooter does a lot better than that though.

Are you talking both trad and compound Art? Cause I'm confident I can do that with a rigged out compound without even touching one for two years. But with the longbow, I only wish I could shoot that well.

Compound, Bob. I've shot with some guys who can regularly do it with a recurve out to 30 yards though. I used to could get pretty close to it with a 'curve, but I was never quite THAT good.

If I can shoot a 3" group at 30 yards, I'm ready to stop while I'm still ahead.
