Air Rest
Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone has tried the new Air Rest arrow rest. It's based on a magnetic field counter-acting an insert at the broadhead end of the arrow. Sounds like an interesting theory, as the arrow supposedly free-floats at full draw, with nothing touching the shaft. Just trying to get some feed back before plunking down $150.00 for one.
Thanks Much |
RE: Air Rest
I have one and love it. The only negative is -because of the magnetic field you must load your arrows backward through the rest fletching first.

RE: Air Rest
Must be hard to load a second shot if needed

RE: Air Rest
I doubt that it would work for finger shooters. Interesting idea though.

RE: Air Rest
Good concept but everything must be absolutely perfect in order for it to work properly.
Arrows must be cut at exactly the correct length, you can not creep any in your draw or over pull. Any deviationbetween the arrow position in relation to the restand the arrow gets pulled hard to the side of the rest. And then there is the loading the arrows thing. Pain in the butt. |
RE: Air Rest
"arrows must be cut the exact length" And why is this a problem?
"you can not creep in your draw or overpull" I find this a plus - it helps your form and consistent anchor point. Overall I find this rest great!! |
RE: Air Rest
Some people like to shoot a longer arrow. As a matter of fact from the looks of the rest and the set up guide on their website you can't even use the correct arrow length for your set up. Since the rest is a slight overdraw rest.
I don't, know. I'm glad your happy with it, but it seems like way too much money for such a simple device. I don't care much for the WB, but I would take one of those before the Air Rest. I think I would shoot off from a flipper rest before I put one of these on my bow. That's just me though. Paul |

I know I don't want my hunting gear to be that critical when I have to make a killing shot on a a buck. I think it would be a great rest for the target archer but I IMHO it isn't a good rest for the majority of hunting rigs. Some people like to shoot a longer arrow. |
RE: Air Rest
I don't know ,haven't tried one, there for I don't think my opinion counts for much... After saying that , I think it's agreat idea that needs a little fine tuning , perhaps a new version is on the way that will solve these few issues.
