tree stand vs. ground blind

if you had a choice would you rather harvest a deer from a tree stand or a ground blind. Why???

From the ground .
Safer , more places to hide , and there's nothing like staring a deer in the eye right before you drop it . Tree stands have their place , but anybody who says deer don't look up is only kidding themselves .

I say a tree stand. I just love being up there watching with my birds eye view.

Ground blind. More versatile, you can get away with more movement on the ground than in a tree as well. Not to mention SAFETY!!!!!!

Doesn't matter to me !
I just want to take a deer fairly with my bow.

Treestand every time. The view from above is much better... seriously. You can just see so much more of the woods.

You could see more of the woods with the treestand, but I think being up close and on the deers level gives an added thrill. It seems trickier because the deer's eyes are on your level and so is his nose. Either way I'm happy to have venison in the freezer!

Treestands offer better cover, shot oportunities, and ease of set-up. If you want a ground blind to work, you better have the thing set-up well in-advance of the hunt!

For thick cover I bought a Lone Wolf Hang On. Last year I hunted behind a piece of camo cloth that I set behind a couple trees. It worked O.K. but I like the option now of being able to hunt from ground and tree. Overall I'd pick the treestand simply because you can see a lot farther.

I like being in the tree becase that vantage point is awesome and I really like being able to see the area from that height, just so different from the day to day view on the ground. There are definitely applications for the ground hunting, but I will try to get a tree whenever possible.
