Deer Camera
Can you recommend what is the best camera to place near the feeder and what options are important? Price initially is not a factor. Main priority is ease of retrieving pictures.
Thanks, Pierce |
RE: Deer Camera
I use the Moultrie 1.3 Digital. It works great for a feeder because it is not that good at something walking by it and taking the picture fast enough but for a feeder it works great. You can get a SD memory card at wal-mart for $20 and it will take up to about 2900 pictures. Also, I bought two of the memory cards so when i go down there i take one out and put the other one in so i can take it home and down load it to my computer. If that sounds to complicated, the camera comes with a cord that connects to the camera to a t.v. and you can view your pictures there. The camera is only about a $100.

If price is not an option there are many cams you can get into....do you plan on using other than just feeders? How good of quality are you looking for in the pics? you can go with higher megapixel for higher quality pics etc. etc.

I would look into building yourself a home brew trail camera. Saves you a bunch of $$ and it's fun whipping up something yourself.

If price is not an option, then I would go with the Cuddeback. Got a 1.3 and 3.0 out right now. Both have a 2GB compact flash card and it runs off of 4 D batteries. I usually get about 1000 pics off of a set of batteries, sometimes more. Here is a good site to find out everything you ever wanted to know about game cams....

RE: Deer Camera
price should not be an option if you want reliability and quality. just go digital and shoot for around 300 bucks
