Davoh, once again, you are right on the money. I am working on a journal entry (it will be a quick one, maybe not well structuredwith more to follow) here at the Net that can allow one of us to have all the e-mails and links from this thread right in front of them on one page. We can then send e-mail efficiently and effectively to the would be sponsors, email links quickly to friends, etc. We can also tell the sponsors who have backed out from the WHA that we appreciate it and will continue to buy their products, but we don't easily forgive them and they should rethink thier values for supporting this in the first place.

Your concerns about getting the word out beyond our relatively small group (in world hunting population terms)is justified, and you are right to raise the question. I expect articles in the American Hunter and Outdoor life soon addressing the WHA and all concerns. These mags have thier stories and structures planned months ahead of time, so it is tough to have an immediate story printed. Writing to our local newspapers is a start and certainly helps, but we need to go bigger. Let me see if I can come up with some ideas or get some insight from Mike Hanback, he is a spear's tip here. More later...keep it up fella's.

Thanks for the encouragement Luke. And thanks for actively working towards a goal, not just griping about the problem like the rest of us(me included). It does my heart good to see other folks taking a stand and spreading the word. I probably shouldn't say that we're all just griping, it's not true, but sometimes it feels that way. The letter writing campain to the sponsors did wonders.

On other forums there's been talk of "now that the sponsors are out, if we ignore them, they'll go away..." This is certainly not the case. Farbman's fighting back, trying win over hunters opinions. If anyone hasn't already, check out Farbman's "Open Letter" to all hunters posted ontheWHA site. I'm not saying that he doesn't want to help the sport, I'm just saying that he'll stop at nothing to "help the sport" go in the direction he wants it to. Into his pocket.
Sorry, didn't mean to get on a soap box again.

"We hunters know that Elmer Fudd is a cartoon character whose antics don't bear any resemblance to real hunting. And Bambi bears little resemblance to real deer. Farbman needs to figure out that we don't need one of our own making it easier for the opposition to convince non-hunters that those cartoons reflect reality."

Please post any corrections or add'l addresses and sponsors to this thread. I will use it to update the Journal Entry on the HuntingNet home page once it is posted. I am tying to simplify access this info by getting it front page here at the Net, because of a lot of people aren't as hardcore as we are and don't visit these forums...Thanks guys and gals! Hanback has some updated material on his blog if you scroll down a few entries...you'll find it interesting.

Justin the Zippo Zarr man got the journal entry up (see it listed on the home page), so I hope it has a postive affect and helps out our cause. Keep any updates coming. Regardless of what you hunting tool you choose to hunt with, this is a fight for all of us.

I would suggest adding the list of agencies AGAINST this WHA thing. SCI, USSA, P&Y, B&Care some off the top of my head thathave sent out statements against the WHA. I understand Bass Pro And Cabelas are supposed to release a statement also. We need to know who is in this fight WITH us!
Good job guys!

OK Jerry/NJ, here they are....good suggestion. Check 'em out people....

I urge you all to e-mail these foundations and organizations to offer your thanks and support for their public stance on the World Hunting Association. They all were negative about the WHA and its endeavors.

Safari Club International (SCI) publicly questions the World Hunting Association (WHA) and their plans to dart deer in pens for large payouts. Check out their statement at this link:

http://www.safariclub.org/articles/index.cfm?action=view&articleID=2296&typeI D=17&archive=0

The Pope and Young Club publicly “nixes” the WHA’s tournament idea of darting captive deer for big payouts as well. Check out their statement at:

http://www.pope-young.org/clubnews.asp

The U.S. Sportsmen Alliance clearly states that they will have no part of this organization (WHA) and even raise some interesting concerns. Check out their statement at:

http://www.ussafoundation.org/interactive/features/Read.cfm?ID=1804

I couldn’t find Boone and Crockett’s stance or public statement, although I am sure of what it is. I have e-mailed them for a statement, and if anyone knows where to locate it, go ahead and post it.

Good suggestions, Jerry/NJ! I'm on it. Anyone else?
The WHA promo said it will be televised on computer and on TV. Do you know which channel has said they will carry it? They need a flurry of e-mails too.

Thanks for your work.
