Hoyt Trykon 65lbs 29 inch draw...361 grain Easton Lightspeed's 285 fps
406 grain Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350's shoot at 271 fps.
Bowtech Tribute shooting same weight and draw and Easton Lightspeed's 299 fps.Didn't try the Maxima Hunters through the chrony with the Bowtech.

You are right, but having a faster/flatter shooting bow helps make you more accurate. If you only need one pin out to 30 yards, that sure is nice and makes whitetails a one pin animal... at least the vast majority of the time. So, speed does have functional uses too.

I shoot a Shadow bow by Unlimited Archery. It clocks in at 326fps hunt ready at 64# and 28". The bow is a dual cam bow at 40" ata with a 6 3/8 brace. It is a bit on the radical side but a pleasure to shoot and very forgiving.
