2" Blazers VS 4" Duravanes
I have been reading a lot about Blazers. How do they work with broadheads, are they as good as 4" Duravanes, do they stabalize the arrow well. Thanks for the info

RE: 2" Blazers VS 4" Duravanes
I find the Blazers to work very well at stabilizing the arrow with broadheads. I use them with 100gr Muzzys and I'm pretty happy with them. I used to use Duravanes and I won't be changing back.

RE: 2" Blazers VS 4" Duravanes
I made the switch from Duravanes to Blazers last summer and couldn't be happier.
I won't say that my field point groups tightened up, but I know I seemed to have better groups with my broadheads. I used to love my Duravanes, but after shooting Blazers I have a feeling that I'll be sticking with the smaller vanes. |

So the advantage is purelywith the broadheads?

RE: 2" Blazers VS 4" Duravanes
So say a guy gets great groups with regular 4" vanes and his broadheads(theoretically speaking, haven't actuallyshot my broadheads yet, it's June:(). No real advantage to the Blazers then, assuming I'm not a speed junkie?

RE: 2" Blazers VS 4" Duravanes
Correct. If 4" vanes group your broadheads well......there's simply no reason to change.

RE: 2" Blazers VS 4" Duravanes
I shot the 2" Blazers all last year, and I thought they worked well.Having said that,I went back to 4" Duravanes with a hard right hand helical. The difference was just short of amazing,my groups tighten up,arrow flight is much flatter. This was very noticable on shots of 30yds. or more.
Basically,I believe it has to do with the helical on the 4" Duravanes that I could'nt get on the Blazers....Bob |
