Speaking of Camouflage......
 

I have to admit I am a camo-junkie. My three-piece suits that I used to wear for work have long since been replaced by various multi pieced camo outfits. I can't seem to help myself. :(

So I have been following this story for a whileand thought I would pass it on being we are havinga discussion about the introduction of Enigma camo.

Seems thecamouflage bar is about to be raised again in a high tech way that would have multiple applications. One that our military is especially interested in.

If affordable it will only be a matter of time before the hunting community latches onto the idea (assuming wildlife agencies would allow its use)...

I have read a number of stories about the "invisible cloak" theories and ideas. It looks as if it will become somewhat of a reality in our lifetimes.

If we think we are "high tech" now I can only imagine what that will mean in the future. The transparent image of the alien in the 'Predator' movie may not be all that far fetched or thatfar off. When will enough technology be enough? Everyone will have to answer that on their own I guess....

Now here's a question that would begin all kinds of discussion around the subject, I bet: So if they ever did come out with this material capable of altering the optical wavelengths, how would we prove that it works on deer? You know, what with their different rods and cones and all, combined with their supposed ability to see ultraviolet images.

good point, you would need to alter the radiation over the ultraviolet wavelength as well as the visible light wavelength. i bet the armed forces already thought of this though since using a UV scope would totally defeat their camo otherwise....

Geez guys, hold on. My head is starting to hurt. :)

I think it will be a long time before something like that ever becomes affordable enough for the average hunter...

..and I doubt the ol' PA Game Commission would make it legal for hunting. We cannot even hunt Sundays. ;)

WHY,we would just ask the deer of course and hopefully get a straight up answer:D

Interesting article to say the least,and as PA said,making this affordable to the average hunter would be a VERY long time away.Besides there are better Camo options available now;)

Military personel don't hunt from treestands..... Predator or Intrusion are designed for this application!

they probably won't have it for the public because who knows how other people would use it if it totally makes you appear invisible. every thief
would have one. It would be way cool for hunting though

I agree with Kevin1. I like to think of hunting as at least a little bit primal. I sure would love that camouflage for scaring the hair off a few people though. Always wanted to be invisible.
