RE: Hoyt Trend continues
I love the draw on standard cam.5 The Spiral cam.5 has a harsh cycle but the standard seems really smooth to me.I drew a couple bowtechs at the Illinois Deer Turkey Classic ,and noticed a really difficult cam roll over.

RE: Hoyt Trend continues
Maybe i'm not explaining myself very good. A month or 2 ago, I took the side by side comparison with the Switchback, Tribute, and Trykon. When pulling the Hoyt back, it has a noticable difference, than the other 2. There is more of valley, with heavy pull at first and then extreme let-off. Almost in the sense of pulling it back in stages (not literally). I shot the Tribute and Switchback, and it seemed much more smooth, without the big valley, and coming later within the draw.
I don't think I would've noticed it as much, unless I shot them side by side with the competition. I really liked other items on the Trykon, but the draw would take some getting used to.My current PSE(for the past 12 years)felt a lot closer in resemblence to the Mathews and Bowtech. The Salesman was a Pro-shooter who actually shot and preferred the Trykon. I talked to him about it, and seemed to understand was I was talking about, and said it was one of those things that you either liked or didn't like. After I shot, I went online and searched for reviews andreada descent amount ofpositiveand negative comments regarding the smoothness of the draw. Like you said mobowhuntr, it's probably the Zephyr cam, which thecomplaints comes from. Check out these reviews. There is a lot of positive and negative comments regarding the big valley and smoothness with the draw. http://www.archerytalk.com/reviews/?page=item_index&product_ID=hoy1_361 That was my personal experience with the "Top 3" test comparisons. I'm not sure what cams where on the bows, they were all brand new. |

Can you say BowTech? :D ![]() |
RE: Hoyt Trend continues
kshunter, you are making perfect sense. I understand what you are saying, and I agree, the Zephyr is a bit harsh. But, it's built for speed, and as I understand it, the speed mods on a bowtech are more harsh than the smooth mods.

RE: Hoyt Trend continues
Those are great pictures and nice shooting. ROSS shooters do not bother with pictures, if we did we would take up all the drive space at Huntingnet.com[8D]

RE: Hoyt Trend continues
My frail little wife shoots a Hoyt Trykon and has no issues with the draw cycle. Not really my buisness but kshunter is no spring daisy and is a big enough boy to decide what draw cycle he prefers the best without your ridicule.....Even if it isn't your Trykon. It's a fine bow (the Trykon), just not up to par IMO either. |
RE: Hoyt Trend continues
I would like to shoot one w/ the regular cam and a half on it. I do believe that would be SWEET!!! The Zephyr is the downside of the Trykon, IMO, and it's hurting Hoyt as well. With out an adjustable draw length, they find themselves building 4 bows for 4 people instead of one. Our program orders have been late this year, and I believe this to be one of the reasons.
