Too bad about the buck. SOunds like a real strange set of circumstances. Hope this deer either survives or someone gets him soon.

LOL 'i have yet to make a bad shot.....but I hit her in the hind quarters'
last time I checked the 'hind quarters' IS a bad shot lol
bad shots happen sometimes....to ALL of us
even so....vast majority of the time a solid body hit ANYWHERE on a deers body will kill it.....but sometimes when we make those undesirable shots...whether theyre caused by buckfever or an unseen branch or deer jumping the string etc etc it may take several hours for the animal to expire. With a bit of patience and careful tracking tho 90% + can be found.

last time I checked the 'hind quarters' IS a bad shot lol

I was thinking the same thing. May of had good results (down within 75 yards), but still not a desirable shot location.
