Release help for my wife
 

I have a bow set up with a light drawweight for my wife. She enjoys shooting with me but we have one problem. The wrist strap on the trigger type releases I have tried (Scott, Truball, Allen) cuts off the circulation to her hand and she can only shoot a couple times. She tried shooting with her fingers and that did not go very well either. Has anyone encountered this problem and could offer any advice? I thought about one of those glove type releases but have not tried that yet.

My wife uses a truball buckle tornado and never complains of an issue. Velcro is too noisey.

Use one of the 3 or 4 finger, no strap releases. TruBall, TrueFire, lots of companies make them. I wish I could remember a model.....but it slips my mind.

Just a thought...
Is she using the correct sized strap? I know most brands usually have 2-3 different sized straps available for each head. I don't know if this would make a difference of not, but if she has small wrists (assuming), and she uses a larger bodied strap, then when she tightenedthe strap down to fither, it wouldn fit incorrectly, and in turn might be putting unusual pressure that is cause the pinching.

I don't know if this makes a difference or not, but thats what popped into my mind.

Take her to a pro shop and have her keep tryingthemout to see which one she likes the best. Also have someone watch her to see if she is doing something wrong. Maybe its too tight around her wrist to begin with or it could be the opposit and be too loose. That could casue it to dig into her wrist too. Without seeing it first hand its hard to say what it wrong.

If she is not going to hunt get her a good hand held back tension release and have someone show her how to use it. It takes a little practice but they will work better in the long run if she wants to be accurate. Plenty of info on this site and others about them if you don't have anyone to help.

I am small and shoot mostly wrist strap releases and have not had this happen. I would also suggest finding a good shop that will let you try some out and find one that fits well.

I personally like the velcro ones myself. I either put it on before I walk to my stand, or get to my stand early enough that it doesn't matter. And then don't mess with it once I'm in my stand.

Sounds to me like it's too tight.

IF YOU HAVE A PRO SHOP WITH A PLACE TO SHOT TAKE HER AND HAVE HER TRY SEVEAL DIFFERNT TYPES AND STYLES OF RELEASES.
THIS WAY SHE CAN FIND THE ONE THAT BEST FITS HER AND THE SHOP MAKES A SALE.
