RE: What kinda helial/offset do you guys prefer?
The only complaint i've got about the left handed helicalis you'll need to periodically check your field points to see if they've become loose.

RE: What kinda helial/offset do you guys prefer?
What is the difference between helical and offset? All I know is that I don't like straight vanes for broadheads. And I hate retightening my field points every shot.

Helical is twist, offset is angled, if that makes sense. Your points coming loose can be fixed by simply adding a little bowstring wax to the threads.

I'm right handed
And I fletch my own shafts. I prefer aright helical and depends on the vane itself as to how much helical I'll put on it. Quik spins don't get as much as a duravane but Blazer will get the same as Quik spin. I also locate the vane at the rear of the fletching tool close to the nock as possible. I think this gives a better control on flight and a forward balance point. |
RE: What kinda helial/offset do you guys prefer?
I shoot right handed with a right helical. I was taught the reason to use a left helical is when you shoot off of a small rest (long bow)or your hand (self bow or flat bow)that the left helical will turn away from your hand and will not cut you. I have had a few small cuts from my feathers so I just turn my nock and occasinally shoot cock feather up, out or in.
