SNOW: good or bad?

For tracking purposes, you can't beat snow. However, in the areas I hunt, the deer seem to realize that they're easier to see when there's snow and my sightings go waaaaaaay down during the first few days following snow. I AM camoflaged against against trees that aren't snow covered, so it's not a problem of me sticking out. What's everyone elses' experience?

I love hunting in snow. We usually don't get too much of it during bowseason where I am, but when it is here it's great. P.S. I am hearing that they are forcasting snow here by the end of the week. I can't wait!

I love the snow for hunting. We have had snow lately, I haven't noticed my sightings drop, in some cases they have risen, maybe b/c I can pick them out more now when before I just heard them. The tracks seem to be everywhere, since I don't have to really look now. I hope we get much more, I like it when there is a good snow cover.

Any weather pattern or change can cause deer to hold tight for a period of time.

Pick up a white "Tyvek" disposable suit. It stores easily in your pack and you've got perfect white camo. It even looks better a you shred it a bit walking through brambles.

Snows great. You know where they've been lately, they're easier to pick out and tracking can't be easier. It also means it's cold so they tend to be more active during the day.

If it snows I am hunting. Its the best time to be in the woods in my opinion.

You can't beat it. I have never notice the change in deer after it snows unitl it begins to pile up. Thats when the hunting really becomes fun. For starters there are alot fewer people in the woods when the temps drop below O and the know right where the deer are. Love the deep stuff.
