What hunting ads are the coolest?
 

In your guys opinions- whose camo looks the most effective in ads? What ads in magazines are the worst? Who has the best advertisements?

Nothing to do with camo, but I think bowtec's ads are very classie. A work of art.

Throw another vote in for Bowtech in terms of attractive advertisements. That one a year or so back with the arrow and the car in the Salt Flats was very entertaining.

As for camo, I do not really remember seeing much more than Realtree and Mossy Oak advertised anywhere.

...and I am going to bump this over to the regular bowhunting forum.

Bowtech's ads are probably the best out of the big 3 but I like some of Hoyt's new Trykon advertisements

I really like some of the Mossy Oak ads. I can't remember what ones they are exactly, but they usually have a quick paragraph on some story and it is really cool.

The other ad that I love is a TV one by I think its Federal or Remington...not sure which. Its like they are up in a cabin the the guy wakes up early and pours coffee and makes toast...then slips some shells in his pocket before going out hunting. I guess its not that effective because I can't remember who or what it is for, but I love that commercial too.

I don't like the Martin ads with the big chested women in them. To me, that is not what hunting is about and they are only doing it to cause an emotion in the testosterone drivenmen. I just don't like the ads because it seems that they don't respect the sport as much.

i get a kick out of those gobbler guillotine ads. when i see that head spinning off in slow motion i just say dam the one isn't going far

I agree. Don't care for them either. Like'm less when I found out that was the owners daughter. No taste.

well I kinda of like the Martin ads. Agreed not what archery is about, but we seem to not mind with beer commercials, or shampoo, or shoes, so why not, it is all about marketing and if it sells bows, oh well. Not all archers are bow hunters, and I have seen some of those type women at 3D and other shoots.

And I want to see the Gobbler Guillotine, dang it! [8D]

Martin, no contest.

Sex sells, plain and simple. Martin uses an age old technique to promote their product. If I had a company that produced a product, I would use the same technique.

I still like the old one where the camera is panning the woods. then yu heat a tolet flush and a door to an outhouse open.

Another vote for the Switchback add, I too agree that I don't like the Martin Adds. I guess that when I think of archery I think of hunting and shooting with my family and friends. My wife and I shoot and hunt together when she has time. My son and daughter age three and four already own their own bows. So I guess what I am saying is IMO that the sex sell promotion doesn't belong in hunting. In the shop that I work at we do sell Martin along with Jennings and Mathews.The shop ownerdoes not dare put up some of the posters that martin sends,in fear of offending the public. Most guys when buying a bow do bring in their wife for approval. I think overall it hurts Martin more than it helps.

martin is not the only bow co that uses women for advirtisement i found a website off of archery talk about the history and bear also uses them and bowtech also hows a bow girl too

I don't care much for most of the advertising. I guess I just resent it because it's added cost being passed on to the consumer. Every time I see a hoytor bowtechad, I know that's another $1 that I'll have to pay when it's time to break the bank on a new bow.

The old Muzzy ads that had the broadhead shredding through a thick piece of bone - they actually persuaded me to switch from Thunderheads to Muzzy. The Gobbler Guillotine ad was also a piece of advertising that has made me actually want topurchase a particular product.

Hunting is all marketing these days, and that's the one thing that I really drives me nuts. I used to enjoy watching hunting shows/reading hunting mags/etc., but now I'm so turned off by the non-stop, in-your-face marketing of it all, that I'd rather spend my evening spotting deer or sitting on a ridge plinking groundhogs.

I use TiVo to record everything so I don't have to watch commercials. However, my favorite thing going is realtree's "Will hunt for food". I even caved and bought the tshirt.

NoDog because I'm no dog to be lead around by the leash in my pants. The person pulling the leash looks harmless and friendly enough but many that go are soon gut shot and dead in the bushes, food for the buzzards, coons and shunks. Their young, left to fend for themselves many suffering the same fate.
