scrape lines

Hi I am new to deer hunting this will be my 3rd year and I have been doing a ton of scouting and marking certain area's with a portable GPS I just bought, my question is this: Do deer use the same scrape lines the following year provided they weren't shot or do they make new ones? any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

RE: scrape lines

My experience is that scrape lines are usually along well used travel routes. That being the case, if those travel routes still exist, they will be used continually. I've seen scrape lines along the same routes year after year.

They are used every year, I also believe that if the buck that
actually made the scrapes doesnt make it, another buck will take over
the area the following year and make scrapes in the same area and usually
the exact same trees and use the same licking branches.

I have seen patterns of the same travel routes as mentioned above. Check out where it starts and where it leads to most likely bedding area to feeding so yes it's a good place to keep an eye on for this coming fall. If not the same buck there will be other deer using the same general routes. Good luck!
