My guess would be Texas, there are usually around 4,000,000 whitetails give or take a few.

Texas, Alabama, Michigan are my guesses. I am surprised you put Illinois in the poll.........Illinois wouldn't even be close in total deer numbers.

The thing I read on the state with the most involved a recent deer census. The Game Commission estimated they had 2.5 million more deer then they had anticipated.

Remember that whitetails aren't the only "deer". If deer is the general term for cervids then you also have to include; moose, caribou, elk and the various "deer" species such as blacktail and mulies. ( I know the intent was whitetail but just thought I'd throw that wrench in the machine for fun.)

If you mean Per Capita, I would guess Iowa, Wisconsin, and probably Kansas, Illinois, Kentucky......

From a pure numbers perspective, no state can touch Tejas
