I have been using the Nikon 400 for a few years now and have no complaints at all with it.

I use the Nikon laser 800, I compared with a few others, it came down to the Bushnell or the Nikon. Back to back, I like the nikon good clear view, andsimple to use.

Does anyone make a decent short range rangefinder that doesn't require a bank loan to purchase ? I used to be able to find the old style "coincidence image" types but I haven't seen one in awhile .

Nikon.........friend has the bushnell and it is much harder to use. Mine is perfect for hunting anything closer than 400 yards.

Thanks for all the input. I think I am going to go with the Nikon Team Realtree 800. It is the only one that seems to be waterproof and fog proof. All of the others say water resistant. I do hunt alot in the snow and the rain so this feature is important.
