Preference on String Silencers

I was shooting my bow the other day, and I had the whiskers on my string for silencing it, but didnt realize how much of a difference they made. i wanted to get something different anyway, so what do you recommend for string silencers? String Leeches, beaver balls, or other?

I've always had whiskers. Tried leaches but didn't really like them that much. And, whiskers don't slow you down as much as people say they do if you get them in the right places.

I like the leeches the best. Even on my longbow.

I'll throw in another vote for the leeches. I serve them in and they last a very long time and do a great job at silencing the string.

I use the camo cat whiskers and cut them down to the size of a quarter.
Ive had them on my bow for 2 years now and they look perfect. I had the
simms stuff on my old bow and they kept tearing apart.

whiskers work. when I got my new string, I shot without, couldnt believe how loud it was. the whiskers quiets it right down.

String Shox, on anything except a Trykon. Haven't figured that one out yet....something to do with the limb tips we think....

whiskers are what i use and i would rather have them than anything else also a guy told me that string leeches wear out way to fast for him

I had whiskers on my old bow and they would slide around a bit. On my new bow I have string leeches and they are great! Leeches only weigh something like 1.4grains each, so they don't really slow you down as bad as you would think.

Sorry guys but I'm new and need definitions so all this can help me. I have those rubber string silencers that the guy at the archery shoptold me work best...... I've also seen the wool type and the plastic shaped like an 's'. I look for silence with my bowand would like to know the difference..... also low maintenance, I don't know much yet. I'm not worried too much about speed as I am w/ accuracy and silece. Do 3D or target shooters use silencers on their equipment?
