Longest Time
 

What is the longest period you have went with out shooting a deer with
your bow? I understand that some people are trophy hunters,some dont
have access to good land, some dont hunt to often. Myself I have been lucky and have gotten deer all 3 years of my bowhunting carrer,good
spots to hunt.

I've went one season without shooting a deer with my bow. I'm also a trophy hunter and did not need anymore venison for my freezer for that year.

Been bowhunting for 15yrs..... Longest without a deer would be my current streak..... About 18 months.... November 2004.....

Bowhunting 18 years and twice I've had streaks of 23 months. Those were the college years.

I've only taken one deer with my bow and that was 3 (three) years ago. I passed on a couple of young bucks and some does the first two years. This past year, I just didn't see squat, I mean nada! It was a veryslow season for me.

What does venison taste like????

I started hunting with a shotgun and went 9 years without a deer.

I picked up a bow in 1999 and have only gone one season without an archery deer. (I got two gun deer that year though).

But I am definitely NOT a trophy hunter.

I've been bowhunting 20 years as of last season. The only break I've had was five years when I lived in Southern California when in the Marine Corps. I started at 12 and killed my first bow deer (3pt) when I was 15. After that, I've killed at least several deer with my bow each year (minus Marine Corps time). This past season I took two does but it was the first year I have not killed a buck with my bow since I was 15. Hunting the Adirondack Mts. in New York (where I now live) is a VERY different ball game than hunting either downstate or the midwest (where I grew up).

This will be my 51st post, will I finally be a SPIKE ????? Hang on, I'll hit OK to post the thread and we shall see...

I've only been hunting for5 years, so my drought hasn't been to long. It took my first bow deer last year on the second day (year 4, day 2) and another one this year (year 5). So I guess my longest time would be 3 years and 1 day. I did take a few with a rifle before then however.
