Default I am back from West Virgina, had a great time.

well got back in late last night. Had a great time, saw some old friends, and made a new one. The full moon had the deer moving very little during the daylight hours, their was plenty of sign, but the hunting was tough. I did manage to kill a nice doe with a magnus two blade, and my brother killed one with a Muzzy 4 blade. The only two deer taken all week. I forgot how steep those hills are, and man are my legs sore and tired! All and all though we had a great time, and learned several new lessons that should help out in future hunts. Now I get to unpack and clean everything up!

Glad to hear your back and safe.

Congratulations to you and your brother on the does.

Sounds like the pain in your back sunk down to your legs eh.

Thanks guys. Antler, my back was sore and stiff until Tuesday, then it seemed back to normal. Maybe sleeping on the floor with my sleeping bag helped? It may have also been that my legs were so sore that I forgot about the back!

Good to see you back. How was the mast crop up therte I think you said you were going near Elkins. I have been thinking of going up to Mill Creek to a friends place for a few days but if there are no nuts I may not.

The mast was "spotty" their was just enough to keep the deer feeding in the same areas, but like I said with the full moon they were moving mostly at night. I actually hunt some in Mill creek myself. My "adopted" father has an old school house they turnded into a hunting cabin, and their is a butcher on Mill road in millcreek that will cut up, debone, grind and tenderize your deer for 35 bucks! He does a great job and you can't beat the price. I think the trip would be worth making, just find the nuts that are still their, or hunt the trails leading down to the fields if their are any close by.

Hey bro you want to talk about being sore, I'll talk about being sore. When I got back on saturday I could barely get my gear out of the truck. On the way back on 77 I saw the dangd'st thing. There way a small buck bedded down in a cow pasture with a Turkey on each side for a total of four. It was like they were keep an eye out for it. wish I would have gotten a picture. Getting ready for Texas now, I will problably take out the 7mm on monday morning and give it a few shots. I let you know how it goes.

Life's short so hunt often

Ben, I still need to make it up your way, now that the Snipers are gone! Jeff, I feel for you buddy, at least you had a cooler full of fresh meat to comfort those legs. Be careful with my rifle, she has served me well for a lot of years, and if you do your part you will have a nice buck when you get back from Texas. Wish I was going!
