North American Hunting Club

I mainly bowhunt, and that is the reason I'm posting this here. Does anyone belong to this club? Does it help you, give you good information? How does it help you?

I belonged to theNAHCfor about 10years. I did not renew this year. It was just ok to me. Basically it's just a magazine. If you are just a bowhunter you would be better served subscribing to an all bowhunting magazine such as Petersons Bowhunting or a bunch of other all bowhunting mags. The "Club" also trys to sell you stuff all the time and it can become apain in the butt. They also claim to send out free stufffor members to field test and "Free giveaways"I NEVER received anything. Like I said it's basically a hunting magazine.

I agree with Doefever, only I didn't stay with them as long as he did. I joined with a 2 year membership and couldn't wait for it to run out. I only bowhunt so all the gun stuff did nothing for me. I sent in I don't know how many times to be a field tester and I never, ever received a thing. I even called once and was told that I was indeed on the list and that I would be in the next round bowhunting gear being sent out. I heard that one twice. My cousin was a member for about 8 years and did get one thing. A pack of hand warmers!! Oh Boy! The worst part , like Doefever said, was all the stuff that they sent you and then billed you for. Oh yea, I forgot, I never asked for the stuff. I kept getting books that I didn't want, and then I had to pay shipping to send them back. I did keep one of the videos once, and it was just OK. But finally I got sick of the books and didn't send one back and called them and asked them for a SECOND time to please not send anymore books. They sent me a second bill for the book. I sent the bill back with a letter explaining that I had called and asked them to please send no more books, that I was tired of spending my money to ship them back, and that if they sent me the shipping money I would send it back. In the meantime, they sent another book and bill. Then they sent me a bill for TWO books. I called again and kept going through this stuff. Finally they sent a notice that they were turning me in for collection. Luckily, I have a neighbor who is an attorney, and he sent them a legal notice that he would sue them for trying to bill me for unsolicited material and harrassment for trying to collect monies for unwanted services. I never heard from them again and never received another item. They didn't even try and get me to renew when my subscription ran out.
If you want good info for bowhunting and archery, just subscribe to the various mags. out there. I get Bowhunter, Petersons Bowhunting, Bowhuntingworld, Bow and Arrow hunting and N.A. Whitetail. You will get everything you need there, without all the junk.
My advice is, if you join North American Hunting Club, have a good attorney!!:D

Been a lifetime memeber since 2001-2002. I agree they can bombard you with adds and things to buy, but I throw the stuff away. I do like the magazine but for bow only, I agree too, better served with bow publications. I have tested a few things some not bad others small, but it is a start. One thing I will say, you have to go to the site and register to test products. Everytime I have, within a couple months I get notice that I will be receiving something to test. THE KEY: return the evaluation form. That is what they are looking for, did you test it and give your comments. I believe they share it with the manufacture. But I have returned it, signed up again, and several months later something comes. Now agreed, small things, but one really good thing about 35.00 bucks. So I keep hoping for something big some day.

As for winning, shortly after I became a life member won a scent lok suit, had to be luck of the draw like lottery with all the numbers and people entering....... hey once in a life time! [8D]

I like em. If ya dont want the stuff just send it back they pay for the shipping. So it doesn't bother me.

I became a life member a few years back. I think it was worth it. The mag is pretty good, as far as a generall hunting mag and gives a lot of good info across the US. However, it is not going to give specific bowhunting info on a regular basis. It is a good hunting mag,as it should be, but not intended for bow specifically.

Yes good all round magazine. I also think it is fun to wait and see if you will get something nice to try, though not in it for that. Just a side benefit. And it was a nice jacket that i got when I paid for life membership[8D]
