robinhooding question

if you robinhood an arrow, is both the arrows bad or just one? i've never done it but lots of people have.

Just the one you hit. The one in back can be pulled out and used again. Normally though, you pull the back shaft out after you have one under your belt. The first robinhood is a trophy.

i just did one with my brand new CXLs last friday. first day i shot them. first one ive done in about five years but when i was younger i would do it about once a week no joke. i just wished i could shoot like when i was younger and had nothing to do but shoot the bow all day. the back arrow is usually still good unless you crack or bend it.

yeah the back arrow on mine have always been fine, but i'm assuming something could go wrong so I'd def. check it out. Make sure you flex the shaft to check for cracks.

I did one a couple of weeks ago and both arrow were messed up.. Obviously the one hit, but the one I hit it with wouldn't fly right afterwards.

Depends on the collision. Some times the back arrow is perfectly fine and it can be pulled out and used again. Other times the back arrow gets messed up pretty good and it can't be used either.

The last robinhood I did actully forced the back arrow's insert back into the arrow, screwing that one all up. The front arrow though seems to be no worse for wear, it needs the fletchings and nock replaced, but the UNI nock seems to have stopped the back arrow dead, keeping the front arrow's shaft straight.

So like I said, sometimes you can recover an arrow and use it again, but other times you won't be able to.

Rear Arrow.......R.A. Insert...R.A Fieldtip....F.A nock/bushing.....Front Arrow

RE: robinhooding question

I bought some arrows and a sight from BPS once, and when I went to get it set up, I robin hooded my 3rd shot. The guy at BPS offered me 2 new arrows if they let me keep the 2 I shot together. They were going to hang it over the door with the others that people had done there (there were only 3 others over the door).

I thought that if they wanted it, it must be worth something. Besides that - I thought it was a neat conversation piece........so I didn't accept the offer. They are now hanging over my door.
