Default My new bow and the mistake i made

Hey guys i just wanted to show u some pics of my new bow...this is my first...it is a 2006 parker hornet...my sights havent come in yet so the guy at the pro shop gave me a target sight to practice with for now...it also has a trophy ridge rest and its set at 60 lbs. and i plan on working my way up to 70

AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN U DON'T KNOW HOW TO SHOOT AND U TRY WITHOUT SOMEONE TELLING U HOW....

SO LET ME KNOW WHAT U GUYS THINK OF THE BOW AND THE BRUISE...LOL

String slap means you are over extending your bow arm. Usually to long of draw make sure the bow fits you.

The brace on the hornet is on the low side, at least one the dual cam one I was looking at the other day, which could contribute to whacking yourself... I've nailed my arm with a bow to short for me too, still trying to figure out how, God it hurt but you must have really whacked yourself to get a bruise that big, Yikes.

Nasty looking. Good judgement comes from experience, unfortunately a lot of experience comes from making bad decisions, lol.I hope you know enoughnot to shoot the bow without an arrow, your post wasn't clear("dry fire" - a bad thing to do to your bow).

I did that once with my old PSE bow years ago when I first started out and haven't done it since!! (mine didn't look as bruised as yours at least....)
