Home Made Rest (Brass release Pic)

Well what you guys think,i took some designs of other rest and made my own,its 6061 Aircraft aluminum, and all Stainless steel screws and rest arm,the arms for the rest is brass ,and so is the arm base,I have a Mill at my house that i made it on,the material was scrape pieces from work and my Boss sent it to Anodizing for me,i have about $6.00 in it,not counting my time, but it was fun,Everything on it i made Except the Set Screws and Spring and works Fantastic and like most Rest the screwswont Rustand replacement parts are easy to find ,just thought i would share it im proud of it..See ya Rick

Hey! That's a pretty nifty bit of machining you did there! Is that an arrow holder mounted on top of the base?

I assume when you draw, the arms pick the arrow up out of the holder? Tres cool!

Hmm...you might want to see about getting a patent on that! ;)

Hows it shoot???!!!

And those aren't matchbox wheels on the end of your prongs are they?? :D

now that is a drop away i would even use! total arrow containment and a drop away rest! that is cool! and yes you better get you name on it! or someone else will!

No patent, i just made it for me,Yes when you draw it picks the arrow out of the holder because of the angle when at full draw ,the hot wheels would of been cool, but that a brass piece witha radius ground in it and it has Heat shrink on it, Thanks It Work Awesome ,solid easy adjustments and i couldn't beat the price, customer support is hard to get a hold of... LOL

I think i problem is, these company's every year have no drastic changes on products, this is what they do everyday, day in and day outand still the products change very little there is great products out there ,dont get me wrong, but i think the rest, and release products are same old, little changes.Sight systems are awesome...I also make my own Releases,B.T.mostly becausethe one i liked, the company dont make it anymore, but as far as rest go,the drop away idea was Brilliant ,but i wish there was more arm designs out there, thats why i made my own,Thats whats Great about America !!!(You cant do that in France) lol

Nice work. Looks pretty professional. How much labor cost would it have been?

Rob had a good idea so I added the pics so all could see.

Man you've really got something there with that design. There is nothing else like it right now. You've solved the "total containment with a dropaway" issue in an innovative way. I'd seriously consider getting a patent and finding somebody to refine and manufacture it.

Very nice, im sure your tired of hearing this but, you really should think about putting a patent on that. you could make some serious cash off of it, i know id buy one.
