If you were hunting this map...

I am will be deer hunting a new area this year and thought I would see what you guys thought about the layout. I am new to using topo maps as part of my scouting so its hard for me to pic out terrain funnels and such without walking along and getting lucky. Do you guys see anything worth giving a second look?

I enter the woods where the cemetary is marked at the bottom of the map. The area I circled is a thicket that is loaded with tons of old scrapes and rubs. Also the entire area of this map is loaded with oaks so there should be plenty of acorns in the fall. The line that I have drawn represents an extremely heavy trail that run through a laurel thicket parallel to the creek hollow. I want to give that hollow some more attention, but I have only had time to make a couple trips in there so far.

Read these maps all the time, send me a copy of it and I will try to point out a few areas I would! [8D]

I assume this map picture you have posted is oriented in normal compass point position. That said, I would look at the saddle on the ridge west of the red circle on your map, just south of the 257 elevation marks.

and the saddle to the northeast of elevation mark 257 as well, located between those two high points.
