three for three
 

My dad, cousin and I went up to wv this past weekend and all scored on does. the one doe i got came in to the ladder stand we set just that morning. Her and another come down this side ridge from above i was set up where i could watch everthing on both sides for a 100 yards or so. we had to trim some branches from the tree that morning for the stand clear, we just let the branches fall to ground. well when the two doe come in one broke off and came right to the branches and started munching on the freshly cut leaves. she was 3 feet from the base of the ladder! the other was feeding not 20 feet away beside the tree. the closest one fed for awhile then turned back toward the second one, when she did, i drew back got a bead on the second one right behind the shoulder and let it fly. i did'nt see the arrow hit but i heard. it was one of those dull thuds like when you bust a water balloon. not good. i retrieved the arrow after waiting 10 -15 minutes and found blood and stomach matter. i snuck back to the house and waited. later that night we found her not 45 yards away from where i shot her, the arrow hit back and high taking out the major artery or vein that follows the spine and coming out the bottom side of her gut. i got lucky on that one. in any case we all were successful and had a great time.
