silencing a quiver.
 

When i started shooting bow i did it without the quiver on, with it off ofmy bow is relatively quiet, i have a Parker Huntermag, but when i have it on it is much louder. I use a tru-glo quiver. If anyone could tell me a way to take the noise down a notch it would be appreciated. If i have to i will use a hip quiver but i would prefer the bow mounted one.

I have a bohning quiver and it is very quiet. However, I don't hunt with the quiver on unless I'm trying to stalk something. As soon as I get to my treestand I hang the quiver on my tree. I don't like trying to shoot with the quiver on. It seems to mess up the balance of my bow.

I agree shile you may be able to quiet it down a bit you will never get it as quit as it not being there. I get a package of the little hooks (the ones people hang coffee cups with) screw on in the tree and use it for my quiver this has always worked for me. Mike

Have you tried applying some mini limb savers to the quiver? I usually place 1 or 2 on the hood and then a couple on the arm. Those little boogers work real good at removing sound!!

Put a very small dap of silicone where the quiver comes in contact with the bow then tighten it down solid and let it dry. I've found that a two piece quiver is infinitely quieter than a one piece (that center bar on a one piece resonates too much, get rid of it!) If you have to have a one piece, get one that attaches on both ends rather than just in the middle and get one that is permanently affixed to the bow rather than a removeable. If the quiver is full of arrows it should be quieter than empty as long as the gripper fits your shafts tightly. Navajo's suggestions of the small LimbSaver is excellent. I'm putting one on the hood of my quiver.

Take it off, it's amazing how quiet they are when they are hanging on a tree!

Not everyone hunts from a tree, it's seldom an option here where 95% of your hunting is spot and stalk. It's either a P.I.T.A. hip quiver or a bow mount.
