Joey,
Awesome buck!!!
I'm just curious, what type of terrain was the bruiser bedding in during the season? Does he bed on property that is off limits to hunting? It's amazing how those monster bucks just disappear.....
Good luck this season!

Doublecreek, It's tough to know where he is during hunting season. There are alot places he could be... Timber, Pasture, CRP.... A lot of it is tough huntingwith a bow. Especially during the rut, the bucks travel a 2-3 mile area cruising for does. I have game camera pictures of about a dozen bucks from the same area, so there are a lot of "cruisin" they do, figuring the land is pretty open. But after hunting season, the deer winter in the same timber area every year. So the best hunting seems to be late in the year, when it's sub-zero temp and snow. I don't hunt in the timber, as it is small and i'm a firm believer in keeping a "Sanctuary" where they can stay and not be disturbed. It seems to work well to keep them in the area.

I posted on this thread once already but was curious....
Do you have any estimation of the age of this buck?
What are the dominate food sources in his core area?
Do you have any photos from 2 years ago?
Sorry if any of this was asked and I missed it.

Scott,
After studying his game came pics, and last 2 years of antlers, I'mpretty surehe was 4 1/2 years old last year, and will be 5 1/2 this season. If not, then he's deffinately not any older than 5 1/2 last year, and 6 1/2 this year. The last 2 years of shed antlers was the main give-away to his age. He grew an estimated 45 inches in one year. It's very likely a deer would grow that between 3 1/2- 4 1/2 year of age, rather than 4 1/2 - 5 1/2 years.
Like most places around here,Wheat, Milo,Cornand Beans are the main food sources. The only photos I have of him was from this past fall.
