Your right, they become an expert typist. Either that, or a very frustrated one.

Periodically the adminstration needs to revert back to an earlier saved copy of the message board either because of problems with the server, a virus or something else along those lines. During those times the post numbers revert back to whatever they were at the time when the message board was originally saved. The posts are not lost just the posting numbers.
