Scope on a bow?
 

i saw on one of these hunting shows this guy had what looked like a scope but in the scope there was a red sort of lazer dot and it seemed to work well. any on no what this is and where i can get one?

There are several on the market. HHA makes one that uses a BSA red dot. That particular one is pretty expensive, but check BassPro, Cabelas and Ebay. Just do a search for a red dot bow scope.

I will tell you, though....they aren't for the impatient...We had more trouble gettin that rascal adjusted properly. On the flip side of that, though......once we did....absolutely amazing.

I shot his bow, 2" too short a draw, btw, centered the dot in the scope and hit the release. X ringed 5 times in a row. Just for fun, we turned the dot off, aligned the peep and the scope, centered the target, and amazingly he shot better with the dot turned off. Never seen anything like it. But man alive......was that a SOB to get set.

same as mobowhuntr... but a decent one usually runs 100-150 bucks

funny you mention that, I was watching Uncle Ted last night and he was shooting an Oneida Black Eagle with a C.P. red dot scope. Looks like a pain in the butt and it requires batteries. Wouldn't that suck if climbed in your treestand and the batteries are dead.

I had a red dot on mine for a while, took it off and put the 3 pin fiber optics back on. That was an expensive experiment.

I've been using my Red Dot Scope for 5 years now. I absolutely love it. It is very easy to set up. Think about it, how hard is it to set up a single pin on your bow? It's only one dot. You set it at ten yards away from the target onlevel ground and forget it. Second, it forces you into your same shooting position every time. If your not there, then you can't see the dot. Third, if you wear glasses or your sight is going it's highly recommended. Last thing I will add, batteries haven't been an issue. Yes, you must remember to turn the unit off. I haveon occasionshot for practice and not turn it off, but it hasn't been a big issue unless I leave it sit for a few weeks. I just always check it as I'm loading up to go hunting. If youdon't screw up the batteries last for two seasons.

I recommend you try one. I like mine so much they should be illegal.
