backyard bow ranges....

just wonderin' how many of y'all have ranges set up in your yard...i just started remodeling mine...i just have to add my treestands and i'll be good to go...it's awesome to be able to walk out back and sling some arrows...it definitely decreases my stress level...3 more weeks and i'll be going after the real thing...turkey season starts.:D

if y'all don't have backyard ranges then how do y'all practice?

Not really a backyard range per se. I have a bag target and set it at various distances. Sometimes I set my stand up and shoot from there. Sometimes I shoot from the deck. Sometimes I set it up in the woods. Usually, though....I set it out and walk around and shoot it.

I have a small patch of woods between the pond and the backyard. I bought an extra ladder stand, a few targets at various ranges and I have a pretty realistic hunting practice range.

yeah mine's alright....we have one set-up at a buddy's house with treestands and several targets. I know what you're saying about the stress release....it's always nice.

Well lets see, since the wife left and sold the house, no place for a back yard range. [&:]Luckily, there is a range a couple miles away..... and there is one on post that I can go to at lunch time!

Backyard shooting for me. BAsically out to as far as I'd ever care too. Just over a 100 yds to the woods. I have a treestand setup as well.

I've been going over to my neighbors. I've built a big deck off my house and it over looks my pond. The drop off is the same as if I was in my treestand. Since my neighbor and I share our targets, I just use his deck. I have plans on putting a feeder up beside my pond and shoot a few of the bambies next year to thin them out.

My name should give a clue to my age, and it ain't how many times I been deployed! Close but no the number of deployments. (of course use to be here as Der Jagd Meister). Anyway, too funny, you should see the looks I get when I mention whay I was doing in 1973 or 1980, or 1985 or ..... you get it! :D[8D]

I live in the woods and have a 3 acre yard, if you want to call it that, so far I have 2 deer targets, a bobcat, and a walking black bear to shoot at. I intend to buy 3 or 4 more targets this spring. I would like to get a bedded buck, standing bear, turkey, another deer of some sort and possibly an alligator. My wife and I absolutely love to shoot our targets. We shoot almost every day during the summer at any distance up to 100 yards.

I rigged up a home made walking deer target one time with pullys and a weight. You could hold your foot on the rope till you were ready then just move your foot a little and the burlap stuffed deer would come out from behind some bushes and go for about 15 ft. man that was fun.
My brother inlaw brought some friends up to try it one weekend, we had a blast. Did loose a few arrows though.

Unlimited possibilities in my back yard....My rear deck is 12' off the ground and shooting down into the woods at all angles is alot of fun and great practice...I do hunt higher than that but it's still fun...I need to purchase more targets but leaving them out is a bad thing. Last summer I woke to hear a 500+ lb black bear chewing the arse out of my 3D target.......full moon made a beautiful scene tho....
