I know they really inforce it now with the CWD here in NY. I heard about an 80 yeard old lady who was ticketed twice for feeding deer. I guess the judge said he didn't know what to do to her. Never heard anymore about it.

I know at gander mountain they have a big sign with the laws on feeding deer now.

I would set it to go right before sunrise so they get use to it and go there every day and i would probably put it on at sunset time

ORIGINAL: turtleshell

its DEER not DEERS
I was wondering if anyone esle would pick up on that.

My sister in georgia has a feeder and as I was walking to the creek in the back yard the feeder turned on and about 6 deer started running towards the feeder as I was between them and the feeder. It was kinda like clock work. Everytime that feeder turned on the deer could hear it and come running, just like ringing a dinnner bell.

I saw on T.V. once that you can buy a call that makes the sound of a feeder. So if it's illegal to bait during the season but not illegal to feed deer in your area, just take the feeder away and use the call.

That's not hunting.

"That's not hunting."

Here we go, again.

There are MANY who think shooting deer with rifles at long range is "Shooting", not "hunting". Where do we draw the line?????

If it's legal in your area......who am I / are we to pass judgement on your methods???? I'll say it again.....the last thing we need as hunters......is people passing judgement on other HUNTERS!

Yes, I believe it is illegal to feed deer in New York. There have been arrests made and even jail time for feeding deer in my area of NY.

After you guys train your deer to be at a certain spot each day, when the season opens is this still called hunting?

What does it feel like after you shoot and kill a deer that is trained in such a manner?

What made you want to usefeeders?
yes
it felt ok
