Archers in general get complacent after awhile. We go for long periods of time with no misshape and then from out of the blue something unexpected comes up. Thank your lucky stars it was just the wall this time.
remember releases can and do fail, slips happenfrom time to time, I know been there done that.Since the last one, I stop to think, what if scenario before I even draw the bow.

I always learn somethin from these. Tonight I was going to have my son try my 28" draw to see if he was ready to inherit the bow. Before reading this post, I was just going to have him dry draw. After reading this post, we were sure to have an arrow aimed at a target (in the house).
