RE: scored on a 5 point - pics
Greg - I'll probably regret not waiting on a larger one - but I am not disappointed with this deer at all. My goal is always to harvest a 2-1/2 year old buck with a bow, and I'll sometimes settle for a 1-1/2 yr old. This isn't to say that I always condone taking young bucks, infact, I'll pass dozens this year - but I think hunting should be fun and with almost 20 years of bowhunting under my belt, this is only the 4th buck I've ever taken with a bow - so I really do not have a problem with it - its a trophy to me. Still -You can almost bet the next time I bowhunt, a 130 class 10 point will pass by!!!
I still have a buck tag for the gun season, or late bow/archery - so I'm not done yet! By the way - congrats on the doe harvest, take those does when you can! ![]() Edited by - farm hunter on 10/22/2002 18:30:20 Edited by - farm hunter on 10/22/2002 18:31:25 |
