That's what I was thinking. He was a huge PA pen-raised buck. Actually, I'm pretty sure he broke the 400 mark one year. I'll see if I can get a pic.

Cool pics 308, yeah I watched a show of him where they were scoring his antlers. One year he was like in the high 240's if I remember right compared to the previous which they had stated that he had made the 370's... dont quote me on that ...it was on the texas trophy hunters journal I believe..

shed: I just did some quick reading, but I didn't find anything on his exact scores. At 2 1/2 he scored 230, but thats the only one they had. I think because he was stollen for 4 years, they don't have exact scores, antlers, or pics for that matter. I thought I had heard like +410 one time, but like you said, "don't quote me on that"

Whatever the case, he's a monster buck for sure.

The biggest buck I've ever personally seen was a reportedly (I can't verify that myself) 180 class buck that I saw from 140 yards away last November in Illinois.

My guide was hanging a stand a 1/4 mile away or so and saw the buck heading in my direction. I saw it come out of a strip of woods and accross a field. Through my rangefinder (that's how I know how far away it was) all I could see was what looked like someone's ribcage stuck on a deer's head!

He didn't stick around long enough but went into another strip of woods and (presumably) around behind me.

I saw a nearly perfect 8X8 that scored around 300.....then I woke up....no really I did see an 8X8 that would have scored somewhere in the high 220's typical. This was on ground less than a mile away from public hunting ground. He was in a bachelor group of 6 bucks in late summer. 2 of the others were booners and then some. Pretty cool site!

i remeber that show--he was 377 previous year but he was down in the 340 the following year.there was a 400,000 purchaser but i dont know if it was him or his speciman or samples

Anybody ever heard of the Minnesota Monarch? His sheds popped up in the late 80's (I think) and without a spread credit they scored 319 and some change. With the estimated spread factored in the sheds scored right at 339 making it the largest wild deer. The story about these sheds was featured in Awesome Whitetails (or a very similar magazine) probably about 8 years ago.

Dang that's unbeleivable. 220's for an eight point is beyong comprehension for me....i'm not saying i don't believe you......all his tines must have been 25" tall and has mass and a spread in the 30's. That's crazy....like i said i'm not saying your lieing it's just crazy to think about an eight that big.

Isn't it interesting that we hunters automatically think of rack size instead of body size! I wonder what the heaviest deer weighed.

I think he said 8 x 8 (16 pointer)....

I forget what the heaviest was but I believe it was around 512 (minnesota I think).... Also there is a picture on the front of the new Outdoor Life of a deer whose rack would have scored in the 220's or 230's typical, unfortunatly the rack is a reproduction of a shed.... Would have loved to seen that deer with the whole rack on his head!

Biggest buck I've ever personally seen while hunting was a 200-210" buck. A good friend of mine saw a legitiment 220-230" typical 12. Could have been the next world record typical!

The biggest buck that I have ever laid eyes on in person was the Minnesota Monarch. I saw that buck several different times and actually looked for his sheds as well with out success of course. That buck was featured in North American Whitetail at one time and never disclosed the location of where the sheds were found. As far as I know no one ever harvested that buck.

No, that buck was never harvested by a hunter. If you're telling truth (which I'm not going to doubt) then you should feel VERY lucky. That was an incredible deer and sometimes I think Mother Nature should claim her best prizes...just like She did with the top 3 bucks of all time. (although the Hole in Horn buck might not be considered claimed by Mother Nature)

Now is the question at hand, the biggest reported or the biggest that we have seen ourselves? The biggest live deer I have ever seen was this year. I guess it went about 275 feild dressed. Was about 7 ft nose to tail and 24" wide at the back. No it never gave me a shot![:@] The biggest dead one was shot 15 miles from here went 360 field dressed (that is big). Antlers the one this year im guessing about 140" for a 8 point, dead it was the 221" typical monster shot right here last year.
