Geoff I will not tell you how many I have seen this year, okay I saw 6 last night alone, but I like you have had some long dry spells. You can find sign of 100's of deer sometimes, but just not be there at the right time.

Be patient, in the middle of the day you may want to try some very slow still hunting and see if you can find a spot closer to food or thier bedding as already mentioned. I hate to say this though, but not seeing deer is part of deer hunting also, I know it is frustrating, but hang in there, be patient and live by the wind and silence.
