This afternoon could be it.......
 

my first bow kill. There is this place right behind my neighborhood, that I got permisson to hunt real early in the summer, well I did a bit of scouting and knew where the deer were moving for the most part and figured I would scout it harder as the season neared. Well then I get permission to hunt another spot about 20 minutes from my house and decided it was a much better place and ignored the first place because the guy only has 2 acres.

Well last friday afternoon I got home late and figured I would take a stand on the place in my neighborhood. I did not want to go in to deep so I took a stand where a number of trails crossed that I did not know if they were morning, night or afternoon trails. Well I sat there and watched 2 doe feeding for over an hour and then watched them enter the woods about 40-50 yards from me and dissappear down into the bottom, then about 15 minutes after they crossed, I watched another deer in the distance cross in the opposite direction. I didn't have my binoculars with me so I couldn't tell at this distance if it was a small buck or a doe, but it was a decent sized deer.

Well Saturday was out because of dinner plans with my oldest daughter who is moving to Charleston next weekend. Well I went down to scout and set a stand Sunday mid day for this afternoon. About 20 feet from where I had decided to set my stand I found a cedar that was being torn up by a buck, the cedar is about 4-5 inches around and he has torn it up big time, there is a pile of cedar shaving at the base of the cedar. The wind if it continues to blow in its usual direction should be perfect, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for the well wishes, I hope I am not counting my chickens before they hatch!LOL I have a lot of confidence for this afternoon if the wind is right, otherwise I will have to work a totally different angle on this.
