Ranging rangefinders?
 

To those of you that have used them,do they range out to 30 yards?Are they accurate?Are they easy to use?They are the only rangefinders in my price range.Are they worth the money?Thankyou

I used one for years and I liked them but they are not easy to use and need a lot of practice to get really accurate with them yes they go behond 30yds they do work and if you cannot afford a lazer they are the next best thing.

I will say this I love my lazer and would not be without it save your birthday and christmas present money and buy one you will not regret it.

I have a TLR75 that I've used for 6 years now. It is very accurate but you should check it occasionaly to make sure it is calibrated correctly. My only complaint is it doesn't work well in low light. Before I hunt a new stand I go in a few days before and range a few reference points like trees or rocks to judge distances from. Since I do this I usually won't even carry it when I hunt. I plan on buying a laser job mainly because I hunt a cutover where 400+ yard shots are possible.

I am in your boat but will not settle on the ranging. I went to the local WalMart SuperCenter and tried each time. The laser's are the way to go. Ranging ones are not as accurate and definitely not easy to use. I make do inside of 30 yards for now. I will go laser!

I've had the cheap 50yd. Ranging Rangefinder, made for bowhunters, for over twenty years. It's accurate within 1yd to about 25yds and short by 3yds at 50yds- it's more than accurate enough for bowhunting.
I hunt with a recurve/instinctive anyhow.
When you set up- range the different objects in your shooting lanes and you'll be mentally set for the shot. The more you get out and use it the better you'll be at estimating the distances anyway.
You shouldn't be taking shots past 40yds. anyhow.
