If it's on someone else's property it belongs to them , not you . If you snag and drag you're literally committing an act of petty theft , emphasis on the word petty . What's next ? "Hey , that ATV sure looks sweet , I'll bet I could snag it ." ? Let it go and go shed hunting somewhere else .

RE: horrible feeling
How about if your neighbor lassoed your new bbq from your backyard and dragged it over to his? That's not stealing?
Just go get the stupid thing. Just out of curiosity, what do you want it for?

Always do the right think even when no one is looking peace of mine is worth every thing. That said ,I was hunting elk on the yellowstone bountry many years ago I asked if Ishot a bull and it made it back across the boader could I retreve it.The park ranger I met on horse back said if I could lasso it and drag it over the line I could have it .thats not tresspassing and nobody owns the elk or that antler.I would not losse any sleep over that one.

I called the land owner this morning and explaned to him the situation. He said that most people would have just jumped the fence to get it. I told him that i wasn't going to do that, he gave me permission to shed hunt his land.I asked him about bowhunting it and he said to let him think about it.
