You will get a lot more responses if you post this in the Bowhunting Forum. Maybe one of the Mods will be kind enough to more it for you.

As for your question a counter balance, a.k.a stabilizer, is not nessesserily needed, but it does help to keep the bow balanced properly in your hand.

I would definately use a stabilizer.

Stabilizers add balance, but some bowhunters would argue that they are more important in reducing vibration/hand shock and to quiet down the bow. For $20 you can pick up a Simms S-Coil stabilizer. While itmaynot beheavy enough to act as a counterbalance for some bows, it does the job of silencing/vibration dampening.

Most of theguys on heregive first rate opinions and view-points. Don't be afraid to ask questions. We are all here to help.

Just bear in mind that we as a group are very brand loyal and while we may say-blah blah brand is the best, take our opinion into account and then check out your other options.
