i hunt anywhere from 10-15....i don't like heights...i also hunt SUPER thick areas so it'd be pointless to go too high cause i'd end up seeing the tops of trees and not the open pockets.

i go about 20-23ft. up. i guess it all depends on your cover and what u feel comfortable with.

As high as the tree will let me go! During gun season I was 40 ft up!

im suprised there are still skeptics to climbers. there are a lot of bad climbing stands out there but the good ones (that dont slip and are quiet) are one of the best things you could ever get. i have an older style loggy i have honestly never slipped with it other then while climbing slipping 1-3inches on a wet smooth tree. its not very quiet with the climbing aid ( i dont use it, my wife does) the new loggy is really quiet but that stupid hard plastic strap slips on everything.

We generally hang all our lock-ons at 15-20 ft and sometimes due to terrain up to 30 max, but it takes a special client to sit a stand that high. most folks won't. We have to lower the stands that Roger Ragland and his cameraman sit to 10 ft. LOL (I'll make no other comment on that one.)[:'(][&:]
