more about the deer
alright..it looked like it was just above the hind leg and it was dangeling out of it..so the arrow is stuck in there pretty good...and i seen it for a while walking around after i shot..n then when i walked over to where it bedded down before it finally ran away...it had blood there..a decent amount of it...so me and my buddy r gonna go out tomorrow and try and find it..i don't think he will do a whole lot of running so hopefully we will find him right away...thanx guys!!

I hate to say it but I don't think you will find him. Think you hung him in the muscle but doubt it reached any vitals. Only thing is it might have hit the femoral artery. Generally they are down within 100 yds if that happens. You probably just got a deep flesh wound. |

I have to agree with Sooner, if you didn't hit the artery, he will still be running around.

From my understanding the only time you should keep a deer moving after a hit is on a leg shot. Just to keep them pumping, and blood loss. I guess its the only way to possibly recover them. I'd try still hunting him now while tracking. Crazier things have happened, you may get another shot!
