First deer with my bow!!(A little long)
 

First I have to tell about where I am getting to hunt. I was in a lease for four years and finally had enough of the jerks that ran it (shooting anything that moves, trying head shots etc...) Well I had no place to hunt this year and was going to rely on friends to take me as a guest until I found a new place of my own. I met this beautiful woman last summer and we started going out and everything was fine. As deer season was getting close we would start seeing trucks with four wheelers and box stands driving around on the weekend and I would always comment on how lucky they were. She didn't really catch on until she asked me one day why they were lucky. She then proceeded to tell me how here dad owned 1000 acres in north louisiana and she was sure that it would be okay if I hunted on it! She called her dad and I went and "met the family" every thing went great and I was jacking a tree by a feeder on Friday evening, had a four point and a small doe come out, the strange thing is the doe wouldn't let the buck anywhere near the feeder, I pasted on both because they were on the small side and I wouldn't shoot a four point anyways. I hunted Sat and Sunday seeing deer everytime but it wasn't until Sunday evening when I had a shot on a nice doe. It was a 27 yd quartering away shot that hit the shoulder blade ricocheted into the neck and dropped it in its tracks. I was shaking so bad I was surprised it even hit the deer but I got it and it's been a week and I am still excited! It was so cool to see deer everytime I sat. Usually I sit ten times BEFORE I see anything.
I had to share this with you guys because I learned most all I know from this forum. I only have a computer at work so I had to wait until tonight to write this and I will probably get in trouble for it but scr%w it! I will be going back for a week during the rut and by the way only her dad and one uncle hunt this beautiful place! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
