Cheap way to make your sites Glow
Now that holloween is here, you can by cheap glow in the dark nailpolish, put it on your sites & it works great.
But after awhile you ,have hold a light on them for alittle bit first. what I do is carry alittle pen light with me,then cup my one hand over my sights& with the other one hold the penlight so not much light gets out.Just thought I would pass this on. Good luck &safe huntin. |

Ok, time for the ethics police. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Why do you need your sights to glow? Our season is 1/2 hour before sunrise to 1/2 hour after sunrise. Buy a set of good fiberoptic pins and your good to go. Mine are usually visible about 10 minutes before and after legal shooting light, and no flashlight needed.

RE: Cheap way to make your sites Glow
A long time ago (in a galaxy far far away) I used to have a battery operated sight pin. I would twist it on when it got a little dusky out, and have it on in the morning on my way in.
I discovered over time that the pin would be visible in low light, but I couldn't pick out the deer or specific spots on the deer. i think the fiber optic sights out now are way easier and simpler. They definitey are easy to pick up during legal shooting,.....and no batteries needed. I can see where the glow in the dark stuff could be useful, but it can tempt one to stay just a little too long in the stand. |
