I pull 65 lbs. Set your bow to a draw weight that you can comfortably pull back and hold for a while, and still able to make a good shot. With todays equiptment, you don't have to be pulling 70 lbs to have a pass through or make a good kill.

RE: what draw weight

The pull on my PSE Vengeance Hybrid is set at 72 lbs right now. It actually maxed out. The reason I have it set like that is because I can pull it back without a problem and hold it for a while. I'm only 17, so I'm pretty fit and 72 lbs isn't too much. If I couldn't hold it, then I would back it off.

This year I am going to 60's, heck to me 70's are over kill.. How fast do you really want to pass through a deer.

about 63-65. Thank God I backed it down from 70. I would never have been able to pull my bow back when that buck walked out:D

i've been hunting at 45# since i've been hunting in cold weather and couldn't pull any more very well after sitting for a long time. this year i'll be shooting at least 50. i would like to get up to 55 though.
