Default Bad Experience with Bass Pro Shop.

Sorry guys but I have to vent for a minute. I ordered a pair of boots thru Bass Pro Shop in November that didn't fit, and also I found the same boot in Cabela's for less than half the price, so I sent them back and asked that they refund the3 payments. It has taken me 3 weeks, 3 online assistance tries and 1 phone call to finally get the money credited. Why is it that when you buy something they run your credit card while you're on the phone but it takes 3 weeks to credit the account. I'm goingback to just ordering from Cabela's, I've never had a problem with them.

I think it's pretty standard to allow 30 days for a refund.

Yeah but it never take 30 days for them to run my payment through. Yeah I ordered the ones from Cabela's and they came in a week.

I sent back a $300 jacket for my wife to cabelas. I called yesterdayand they told me they are real far behind in processing refunds because of Christmas returns. Their policy is 30 days max. I checked with UPS and the package was delivered and signed by Cabelas 1/11/05. No refund to me yet either.Credit card companies will not process fraud claims until a minimum 30 days have expired.

You're getting mad at the wrong people. Bass Pro is not a credit card company, they just accept them as payment as a convinience to you the customer. When you request a refund they can do there part right away and then it's in the credit card companys hands. Sometimes it takes up to 90 days for you're card company to do this. I used to work for a retailer and had to deal with this several times. Like anything else credit cards have their advantages and disadvantages.

Sad story. Here's mine. My wife bought me a bow from bass pro. It was my first bow. I had picked out a PSE Typhoon. She went to the store and told the guy what I wanted for Christmas. $500 dollars later I had my bow. What I ended up getting was a PSE Nova($200 bow). I tried to return it and they would only give me what the Nova was worth. So my first bow experence, I got a $200 bow for $500. I still have the bow, I just can't seem to sell it Knowing I'm Out $300dollars already. Got to love bass pro.

I have always ordered from Cabela's and continue to do the same. They have always been good for me. I do occasionally stop at the BPS stores, but even those are going downhill in my opinion. They are getting a ton of casual clothing and not nearly as much hunting/fishing stuff. I can't wait until the Cabela's in Milwaukee opens up, that wil be the closest one to me.

i love bass pro but thats because i live about 15 mins from the one in concord, nc and my mom works part time there so the 45% off of all bass pro brand and dicounts on other things are great. i go about 1-2 times a week and would love it even without the discount.

I have always had real good luck with cabelas. They are excellent for returns. I havn't returned many thing paid for by credit card, but I have never had a problem with any returns. Bass Pro Shops I feel is sometimes kinda shady. Something about them I just don't trust. ?????
