Ridge Hunting?

I was wondering if anyone has had great success hunting on top of a ridge. It doesnt have to have been really high or steep but it seems like I am seeing alot of deer running at the crest of the oak ridges where I hunt. I dont mean sitting at the top looking down either jw if this is a well known fact or if it just an isolated case. Thanks for your replies.

look for a saddle in a ridge were the elevation is slightly lower than the rest of the ridge. i've seen lazy deer cross there alot because they dont have to walk as far uphill

I like the saddles of a ridge. They are a perfect spot for me hunker down all day. And deer cross through them all day as well.

Don't be afraid to hunt those ridges. Where I hunt, the hills are pretty steep, so I found a spot where the hill is the least steep, and sure enough it was turned into mud from deer going up and down at that point. It acted as a natural funnel. Whenever the deer want to go from the bottom to the ridge or vise versa, they always went to the least steep place. Guess where my favorite treestand is located?

Thanks for your replies. Ill stick with my ridge spot. I shot a buck walking a ridge this year in archery season...good deer but he only had one side of his rack. Thanks again

I have a dumb question when do you guys see the most deer on ridges? I hunt near a ridge but I truthfully have never seen any deer moving before 0900. Just recentally I found a saddle and sat there in the evening and the same thing no deer so I was just curious.
