Sweet-looking rig.
I thought for a secong there that you had put a sight on backwards, and was wondering what the heck was going on... until I got a better view in one of the later pics and saw it was one of those air-rests. :) |
RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
Very nice bow. I receivedtheROSS CR334 this year as a Christmas present from my son. I am thrilled to death with it to say the least. Been shooting it every night in my basement. My son has a Mathews andvery jealous after seeing whatthe CR334 can do.He now wants the ROSS CR337.
Smooth, balanced, quiet, and fast. Love it! |

Shows ya' how up I stay on everything. Didn't know there was such a critter. While looking them up I came by this site. First place I've seen them all listed together. This is just one page of the site. The place has a ton of information on all bows.

RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
Ross Guy,
I just saw on the pic you posted of your 334 that it looks like you have to attach the bottom piece of your quiver to the rear stabilizer bushing? So it comes out looking like the setup for the STS, kinda... Just never seen a quiver attach like that... |
RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
P.S. what in the heck is an "Air Rest"? Never saw one.
|
RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
David, it'sa contraption that completely encircles the arrow shaft, holding it in the middle with powerful magnets. The arrow shaft is virtually floating in mid-air. I believe you have to use a special insert for it to work correctly. Of course, it's got its loyal followers as well as its detractors already.
If I'm not mistaken, your buddy Len played with one extensively at the ATA show and offered the inventor some feedback on ways to improve it. |
RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
So what you're saying is I could screw up a guys tune with a big magnet or a degauser.[8D]
|
RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
Let's see if I can get this pic I snagged from over on AT to load; it gives you a pretty good look at the contraption:

RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
HERE IS SOME INFO FROM THE ATA SHOW GUYS "AIR REST" One of the most talked about new products was by a company called Air Rest. It’s a magnetic rest with a shape similar to a Whisker Biscuit, but it’s magnetic all the way around. It works with a magnetic insert that you put on your arrow at a certain length. When you come to full draw, reverse polarity on the magnets causes the arrow to hover in mid air. This design eliminates clearance problems and friction issues, and you don’t have to worry about a part of the rest dropping out of the way. The arrow is just there suspended in mid air. It was certainly the most intriguing and talked about item at the show. I’ve tried this new rest, and it seems to work well. You just have to make sure that your arrow is precisely cut to the right length or it won’t work. |
RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
It's cool, but too technically advanced for my archery liking. I'll stick with my Trophy Ridge dropaway.

RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
the quiver attaches just like the mathews 2 piece quiver...right to the riser.that weird seeing the pic of mike and the air rest still floating around...i took that pic a while ago.

RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
I'm not saying I didn't have to do a little digging to find it... :D
So it's not attached to the rear stablizer bushing? I guess I'm just going blind in my old age... |
RE: heres my new target bow(Ross CR337)
Now you go and post close-up pics right after I replied!!! :D
I can see now it was an STS I was seeing there after all... |
