A couple of years ago I had a fawn with spots that couldn't have weighed more than 20lbs. keep coming to my calling at the end of november. It was about the size of a coyote. I seen it three or four different times I sat that stand. I never seen it with a doe and niether did the guy who hunted the property next door, who also seen it a few times. Most deer that are that small fall to predators before this late in the year. Pretty cool pic.

I was also thinking maybe it was born late too. That's my only guess.

Fawns this late are a sure sign that the herd in your area has less than ideal conditions. Something is out of whack. There is absolutely no reason a buck should be able to breed in June or July in NJ. If you are down south, then it's not that abnormal.

wow, if you have a tough winter there is no way she will make it through. I don't know where you live, but she wouldn't make it through any winter up here.

She just got back from playing paintball with her buds. Looks like she lost.

It is unusual to see spots on this late, but I'm surprisedit is still around. I'm not sure how bad the winter gets in your area, but in Wisconsin, it would have been a real tasty treat for some coyotes.

No axis pens around here (i think you asked where in SJ i'm at??)
I'm in E.H.T zone 42

This winter has been a mild one and I think he(she) will make it

I have never seen a spotted fawn this time of year. You have
a lot of unusual critters running around in your woods. Anything
might pop out while you are on the stand. Keep the pics coming.
